Finding a Good Wholesale Directory To Get Your Products From

Written by willrick on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Wholesale refers to being able to buy in bulk at a reduced rate. A wholesale directory connects wholesalers and retailers. Getting listed in a wholesale directory is a great idea for any wholesaler. This is because most businesses looks for wholesalers via these directories. Getting your business featured in such directories could expand your business opportunities. A wholesale directory enables users to search for and successfully find a dropshipper or wholesaler who offers their requested product at a wholesale price.

Most products are dropshipped to the purchaser by the dropshipper or wholesaler after a successful sale on the users end. Most directories work well with eBay to provide an opportunity for small businesses and internet marketers to benefit from the extensive products available online and sport user friendly sales tools. It’s a good idea to find a directory that offers a lifetime membership, one that does not simply leave you floundering in the water. Some offer extensive training material for all their users, including step-by-step videos and quality content.

Most new users have no problem finding a profitable niche from products available. With the thousands of products from hundreds of suppliers, it almost impossible to not find a product that works for you. Also, chances are that you will have enough background knowledge to promote at least one product without having to do extensive and time consuming research.

If you are already an eBay user, then you will feel right at home with some of the better directories. Most will also have experience in the online sales and drop-shipping business to pass on to you. This will provide you with a distinct edge in comparison to other users have not even dipped their toe into the water of internet marketing. However, even if you are not a savvy eBay user, any new marketer will find success with the use of great instructions, professional customer service, and online community that some of the better directories offer.

Finding a good wholesale directory comes with virtually no risk. Some offer a 60 day unconditional refund on the membership fee, you don’t have to spend another dime until you sell a product! The beauty of this system is that you do not need to even put any investment into a product until after it’s sold. For example, if you were to sell an mp3 player for $250, you could then buy the same mp3 player for $100, you would profit $150. Also, you would not have to pay the $100 for the product until it actually sold, ensuring that none of your investment is lost.

Wholesale directories serve as a great knowledge bank. They supply you with information that you need to know about wholesalers and their products. To find a wholesaler these directories are your ultimate source of information. Many sources on the internet can tell you about wholesalers in a particular business but wholesale directories make for the quickest option. Directories feature alphabetical listings of various wholesalers in a particular segment. Scams have given dropshipping a bad name, but finding the right source of wholesale companies can be very profitable. Focusing on good products and reliable information you can create a powerful stream of income for years to come.

Get The Drop On Drop Shipping Scams

Written by eSources on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

If you are an Internet retailer, a storefront retailer who also has a website, a mail order retailer or a catalogue company, you may find the concept of drop shipping attractive. After all, drop shipping eliminates the need to buy inventory, store it, and ship it out yourself. Working with a good manufacturer, importer or wholesaler that will drop ship offers numerous benefits, including low overhead costs and higher profit margins than you might realize through regular affiliate programs. The beauty of using such a service is that it allows you to focus time, resources, and energy on building and expanding your customer base and not on sending out products you have already sold.

The drop shipping process involves four basic steps:

You advertise specific products and take orders for those products.
Upon making the sale, you receive your money.
You then send the order along with the money for the wholesale and shipping costs to the manufacturer, importer or wholesaler.
They ship the product directly to the customer.
It is a simple, efficient process. That is as long as you are working with a quality, trustworthy drop shipper. If you end up contracting with an unreliable company or a scam artist, your reputation, profit margin, and entire enterprise can suffer and be destroyed. When deciding which companies you will conduct business with, there are a few practices of which you should be wary.

Most often you will be looking to work with a few companies or perhaps even one company whose products you will represent and sell. In essence you are marketing specific goods with the resulting sales benefiting your company and the manufacturer, importer, or wholesaler.

With this in mind, you should never be required to purchase a membership in order to sell another company’s products (there are some exceptions to this rule: for a list of legitimate dropshippers visit our dropship suppliers and dropshippers directory). The types of companies that charge such fees usually say they offer a complete array of goods backed up by a marketing department. They will even include your own e-commerce website that you can use to sell their items. Such turnkey businesses are replete with large initiation and setup costs, monthly membership fees, and other hidden expenses. Additionally, you are often only allowed to offer their products on their site.

Does anyone ever make a profit from these turnkey businesses? Yes, the people who sell them to unwitting retailers make large sums of money. Do not fall for this scam. The only fees you should ever be charged are those for the product and for shipping the product. Legitimate drop shippers may charge you a fee, which is however refundable once you have commenced trading.

Additionally, never pay a drop shipper a membership or license fee for the right to have them drop ship for you. The concept sounds ridiculous, and it should. It’s another con. They are already making a profit from the effort you are putting into selling their product, why should you pay a license fee for the right to have them ship that product? Should you pay for the shipping? Of course, but that should be on a per item or shipment basis and no additional charges should apply.

There are also lists of bogus drop shippers that are sold to potential retailers. A legitimate business can spend hundreds of dollars on such lists, which are really names of middlemen posing as drop shippers. Contracting through these sham shippers will result in you paying much more than you should for your products.

You may also be tempted to buy relatively cheap lists of drop shippers. These lists are inexpensive because they contain out-of-date and/or false information. When you try to contact the companies on the list, you will find that they have gone out of business or never even existed.

Finally, whatever companies you contract with, make sure that you have it in writing that the manufacturer, importer or wholesaler will not market to your customers. The customers you directly sell to and the drop shipper, through your order, ships to, belong to you and not them. You have done all of the ground and legwork to sell to your customers and usurping them is not an option open to your drop shipper. Any legitimate company will agree to and honor such a contract.

Be sure to ask companies about their drop shipping policies, including charges, length of time for delivery, return polices, and backordering procedure.

Make the Switch - Join The Wealthy

Written by konradbraun on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Robert Kayosaki once said “There are two types of people. Those that work for money and those that work for freedom.”

He then goes on to explain the four group settings these individuals find themselves in and it is quite fascinating how he basically pin-points the reality of one hundred percent of north americas working population.

As an example, the employee group and the small business owner group are identified as “working for money” type of people. Where as the big business owners and the investors are classified as “working for freedom” kind of people.

Now, in our day and age, it is said that aproximatly three percent of the north american population owns 95 percent of the north american wealth. That is absolutly insane. How can an average person make the shift and leave the 97 percent to become part of the one percent?

Different from what you might think, it is not impossible. The questions one always needs to ask is: How did the one percent do it? How can I duplicate their success?

D.H. Hunt, one of the richest men in his day, once said this about success: “Find out exactly what it is you want, then calculate what and how much it is going to cost you to get it, and then set out and pay the price in full.”

That is a pretty powerful statement. Success is not a secret, but rather a formula that goes like this: do what successful people are doing and you are bound to be successful as well.

One thing you will quickly realize about this filty rich three percent of our population is that they are either A: big business owners OR B: Investors. As mentioned before, both of these groups of individuals tend to work for freedom, rather then money.

My friend used to always say: money does not buy happiness, but it sure helps. And I would have to agree with him. Having a big load of money is not everything and it will not neccessarly make you happy. What it will do though is, it will allow you to take time off when ever you want to do what ever you want, where ever you want.

You see, for the big business owner, the focus all of a sudden is no longer on the money, but rather on the freedom. Being able to focus on that not only helps you live a more meaning and purpose driven life, but it also takes a huge load of guilt, worry and stress off of your shoulder.

It might be a tough switch to join the three percent, but in the end it is well worth it.

eBay Sellers - 5 More Deadly Mistakes

Written by jimmyvanilla on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

There are several ‘deadly mistakes’ that could really hurt your eBay business. If you can avoid them then you are more likely to find success. Here are 5 of the most common mistakes that eBay sellers are making that you should try to avoid.

    1. TRYING TO HIDE DEFECTS IN YOUR ITEM. Don’t lie about what you are selling. Disclose all defects and take pictures of them. Your reputation on eBay is worth a lot of money to you in the long term and any negative feedback that shows that you were less than honest will stop sales dead. In most cases people will still pay good prices for quality products with slight defects. If in doubt, spell it out. Remember, you are probably happy with the item even though it has defects. Chances are there are buyers out there who will feel the same.

This is particularly important with selling antiques. It is almost expected that antiques have some flaws. It comes with the age of the item. But if you are honest and upfront with buyers then you are still going to find that they will be happy.

    2. CHARGING TOO MUCH FOR POSTAGE. eBay allows you to charge a reasonable amount for packing and handling, but my experience is that you should charge no more than the minimum cost to you to post the item and buy an envelope or box to send it in. If you stick to that formula then if someone hits you with a negative then you have recourse to request eBay remove the feedback from your listing.

    3. INSUFFICIENT PACKAGING. Do the right thing. Get a big roll of bubble wrap and apply liberally to the outside of everything that you sell that could even remotely be broken. I even bubble wrap teddy bears! You want to ensure that no matter what happens in the post you have covered yourself. Sometimes even bubble wrap is not enough and you should insist the buyer pays insurance if you are sending something worth more than $100. Protect your feedback no matter what you do.

    4. NOT OFFERING PAYPAL. If you don’t offer Paypal because they charge you a few dollars for the privilege then I have to question whether you are selling the right items or whether you are selling them at the right price. Get some goods that you can make a good profit on and then offer paypal to get your money today!

    5. NOT LEAVING FEEDBACK. Feedback is the backbone of the eBay community. It is the only way that you can declare your trustworthiness to other members so you need to leave honest feedback for every transaction. If you get Selling Manager Pro then you can even automate your feedback process so that you never have to lift a finger.

If you can follow these tips for successful selling then you are going to be on your way.

Can eBay Provide Your Pot Of Gold ?

Written by dougstuart on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Making money on eBay is just like doing it in any other business. You have to subtract your costs from your sales to find out how much money you are making. However making money on ebay is totally possible and extremely achievable, even making really good money on ebay is very realistic. Making money on eBay is fairly simple if you can stick to a few simple steps.First and pretty obvious step you have to take is to sign up to sell on eBay.As if you are new to eBay you must first register and become a member of the community.Making money on eBay is not rocket science and you can use eBay to diversify your income and increase your income dramatically.

Selling often soon becomes an obsession with most people who try ebay.First you sell one product and you break even. Then you sell two and you have doubled your money yehah. Selling products on the internet has never been easier since the creation of ebay.As you can easily build your own little empire even if you don’t have a creative or sales bone in your body.

Search through that cupboard of stuff you never use, and you’ll probably find you’ve got a few hundred dollars worth of stuff lying around in there! This is the power of eBay,as there is always someone who wants what you,re selling, whatever it might be, and since they’ve come looking for you, you don’t even need to do anything to get them to buy it.

Product sourcing is the most challenging aspect of running a successful eBay business. You will always be on the lookout for products to sell to keep ahead of the competition and to continue to make your business viable. Product choice is therefore key as there are literally millions of items that you can sell on eBay but only few will bring in any kind of real profit. Ideally, what you want to focus on is selling unique or hard to find items. Also for you to really increase profits you must know how to increase the number and amount of bids per item.

Selling on eBay is a skill that many people try to pick up on their own and without any help. Unfortunately this can result in lots of wasted time and money and of course frustration. Selling many different kinds of products, is exactly what makes ebay so appealing and achievable for such a wide variety of people who have many different interests and levels of experience.

Dropshipping gives even the small guys with really little start up money the ability to start their own online retail store. By working with dropshipper companies, you can have lots of your business operations taken care of such as the shipping and packaging, also the checking out systems are mostly handled by your dropshipper. Dropshippers are usually very willing to let people sell their items on their behalf - it does them a favour, and gets rid of the hassle that they might encounter when trying to sell their goods just by themselves.

Firstly try and find a supplier of an item you are willing to sell by looking on google or elsewhere, and then contact them regarding becoming a dropshipper. Drop shipping is when the product distributor takes care of all the shipping for you. Therefoe rather than you having to order stock in bulk, the stock remains with the distributor.

People are more likely to buy from a stranger they know something about, than a stranger that they know absolutely nothing about. Obviously having a positive feedback is very important, but this adds another element. People are earning thousands of dollars per month on ebay,so next time you’re surfing the getpaid/ebay site, check out how many PowerSellers there are, you’ll find quite a few.

Trust is the most important factor when selling on ebay. Therefore always remember that the buyer is not able to see you or the item face-to-face, so reading positive reviews from other people will make them feel at ease and they won’t even care that you are an eBay beginner.Selling on ebay is the easiest thing you may come across. However with the aide of some small tips and experience you may master the question of how to make money on ebay considerably quicker than most who try to go it alone.

    What to Sell Online?

Written by rescue1250 on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

So you want to start an internet business? You probably want to put together a web-based store or use a drop shipment company to start and/or supplement your beginnings of this entrepreneurial pursuit. What you are going to sell and how are big questions.

In deciding which products to sell one must look objectively at the current market, the changing trends and the availability of products. Many items that can be found by going to your local store are not items that will successfully sell online. Why? It is a matter of convenience. No hassles of internet shopping, no shipping fees. No delayed deliveries because of the We do not ship to PO Boxes not being read. No chance of items becoming lost during the transit time. Items that can be found readily in town, offer the satisfaction of immediate gratification.

A good idea is to choose products that are not currently the hot item on the market, as the bigger conglomerates will already offer these items at a cost to the consumer that is cheaper than yours - simply because they can buy in bulk, whereas you may not be able to. Successful internet sales are full of items of special orders and hard-to-find items, such as a specific style of clothing.

Successful internet sellers and resellers do research into market trends. What sold yesterday in the town & convenience market may now sell well on the internet as it becomes less and less available in the quick stop shopping mode. A good researcher will include surveying individual geographical areas to see what is available and what isnt and choosing their products accordingly.

Antiques and knick-knacks are often seen for sale via internet stores. Traditional antique stores carry what they seem to run across, while internet antique stores have a much broader selection as they can tap into many more resources. They can also obtain items more quickly than the traditional store can. As for knick-knacks, there are very few stores out there that specialize in having an inventory of knick-knacks, and the world is full of people who have, want or collect knick-knacks. And what better way to find a quick variety than the internet.

Lastly, keep in mind that just because you or a few of your friends may like a specific item does not mean a bunch of consumers will share your views. Cater to consumer trends, lack of availability, specialized products and the old standby of oldies but goodies, and your internet business should do well. You will be constantly changing inventory so be prepared and watch, closely, all the factors that come into play with consumer purchases.

Salehoo ,What It is and Its Benefits

Written by melovemoney on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Drop shipping is a dream for many people who want to make significant amounts of money while making a business out of selling products online. With drop shipping, a person in an online business does not have to do a lot of paperwork or keep stocks and inventory. All he needs to do to be able to sell is to promote the products he sells on his website, take orders from clients, and place these orders to his suppliers. His suppliers will handle the shipping to the customer. Through drop shipping, a person will earn money without ever having to touch the product.

Salehoo: A Popular Online Wholesale Directory

Salehoo is one of the most popular websites that act as a drop shipping resource on the Internet these days. Basically, it is a wholesale directory that offers a wide array of suppliers on a wide range of products on their listings. That is a beauty in itself, with regards to the variety provided on the its website.

Through this variety, the site is able to give its members the ability to be more flexible in making decisions on what products to sell. They can choose to sell a single product line from a specific supplier, the same kind of product from different suppliers, or multiple product lines from multiple suppliers. This kind of flexibility is what primarily makes Salehoo a winner as far as being a wholesale directory and a drop shipping resource.

    As a Drop Shipping Resource

It does not end there, however. Salehoo does not simply provide supplier listings as what a typical wholesale directory does. While the extensive supplier listings do give its members more choices, the product research that it does on the products its suppliers come up with helps the members of Salehoo make more intelligent choices. Being able to make intelligent choices means Salehoo members get to have better deals on the products they are buying and selling online.

It also has education and community sections. The education section provides help guides on different aspects of drop shipping, such as setting up shop online, buying and selling on eBay, finding good products to sell, finding good sources of products to sell, and spotting a scam.

The education section may not be as meaty as those found on other drop shipping resources, but a huge bulk of the meat is found on the community section. The community section is where members give advice on the finer points of drop shipping as well as sound off on good or bad suppliers.

    A Scam?

The popularity of Salehoo as a drop shipping resource and a wholesale directory has made it a target for bad publicity. Mostly, the motive behind this bad publicity is to be able to steal some of the business generated by it. Many mudslinging detractors of the site, if one looks at them more closely, are in direct competition with it and, thus, are simply trying to divert some traffic to their own wholesale directory listings.

Regardless of the bad rumors circulating about Salehoo, it is without a doubt that it is one of the best websites out there when it comes to drop shipping.

Wholesaling and Drop Shipping with Salehoo

Written by melovemoney on Monday, August 25th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Wholesaling and drop shipping go hand in hand for online sellers. Just like traditional middlemen who sell products from different suppliers in malls and department stores, online sellers get the products that they sell on wholesale prices. They mark these products up when they push them to their customers, and the difference between their marked-up retail prices and the wholesale price by which they bought it represents their profit.

The process of wholesaling becomes much, much nicer when online sellers do drop shipping as well. With drop shipping, it means that the online retailer does not have to deal with concerns about inventories and shipping products to their customers. Inventories and shipments are major business aspects that traditional middlemen have to handle.

However, with online sellers, they only need to list their products on their websites, promote their websites and receive purchase orders from their customers. When a customer buys from them, the online retailer simply gets in touch with the supplier, places his order and has the supplier shipping the product to his customer. In drop shipping, money passes between the buyer and the supplier through the middleman, the online retailer, but without the online retailer actually touching the product. Through this, online retailers make serious amounts, both in profit and in savings.

Salehoo is a website that attempts to address both the wholesaling and drop shipping concerns of online retailers. It is a members-only wholesale directory and drop shipping resource. Considered to be one of the best websites of its kind, Salehoo connects around 50,000 online retailers to almost 6,000 suppliers, making it one of the biggest wholesaling directories as well.

To be a member of Salehoo, one has to pay a one-time fee of $67. The fee grants lifetime access to Salehoo services, and these services include:

*The wholesale directory itself. The 6,000 suppliers listed in the Salehoo wholesale directory offer a wide range of products to consumers, from electronics to baby wipes to antiques. There are many suppliers for similar products as well as many products from a single supplier, thus giving the members a variety of choices on what product to sell.

*Product research. Salehoo periodically conducts product research to ascertain the quality of the products provided by the suppliers on its listings as well as the performance of the suppliers in delivering products. Through product research, Salehoo determines in behalf of its members which suppliers will do a good job for them.

*Drop shipping and wholesaling guides. A member who is new to drop shipping and wholesaling have the chance to learn how these are done through the education section. The guides provided in the education section cover the basics, while further explanation can be found in the community forum.

Salehoo, in itself, is a complete website on wholesaling and drop shipping. It is a very convenient resource because it combines two concerns common among online retailers in one useful and easy-to-use website. It is truly one of the best on the Internet.

How To Start A Drop Shipping Business

Written by cscarpero on Monday, August 25th, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Dropshipping is an extremely effective business model for anyone who wants to start an online retail business. You can either run it through your own website, or through some other outlet, such as an auction site.

However, due to this form of online business has become so easy to do, and because of its increased popularity, many prospective dropshipping businesses have become targets for the less reputable people online, such as scammers.

Unfortunately, many people who do not really understand what dropshipping is about only see it as a way of getting rich quick. Because of this, there are plenty of people out there who are ready to exploit them. In this article, we will look more closely at the things you should consider before you decide to go ahead and set up a dropshipping business for yourself.

    1. You need to carry out plenty of research with regard to dropship sources. It is best if you avoid using search engines when doing this, as they will also offer up a list of the less reputable companies around, as well as providing you with page upon page of links which are completely useless. However, once you have found a reputable source for the information that you require, and then the real work begins.

    2. Avoid any companies which expect you to pay them an up front fee (membership or monthly). Also avoid those which offer you a fully featured dropshipping solution that provides you with a website and everything else that you need in order to get your business off the ground.

    3. Ensure the dropshippers you are looking at require a valid wholesale certificate from you. You will gain this through a business license, so avoid any that don’t have that requirement at all costs. Unfortunately, most of the companies which are willing to do business with an illegal business will usually be middlemen, who then send your order through to the wholesale company, and will end up taking a cut of the profits that you are trying to make.

The best way to find a legitimate dropshipping company is as follows:-

    a. If you have seen a product which you are interested in selling, then contact the company producing it direct. Inquire if they have a dropshipping facility, and if they don’t, then they are likely to be a light bulk seller. This means that they will only normally sell their products wholesale with a minimum of say around $200 or so (in many cases, the minimum number is much higher).

    b. Another way is looking at such directories that have been set up and deal directly with legitimate dropshipping companies only. One such directory is Worldwide Brands. Such directories offer you an extensive searchable list of products, and which companies supply them. So if you are looking for a way to save yourself time in searching for good quality products to sell through your online business, then these directories are certainly the right way to go.

    4. However, once you have found a company that does offer dropshipping facilities; you will need to get a valid reseller/wholesale certificate. Yet, what the exact requirements are in order for you to obtain this certificate will vary from state to state. But the minimum requirement for starting any dropshipping business online is that you have a business license.

    5. Now you need to contact the dropshipping company in question and set up an account with them. Unfortunately, you may find that because your business is new, and you are not able to supply any references, then you may find that you need to set up a pre-paid account with them. Normally, this means that they will charge your purchases to a credit card instead of providing you with a line of credit. In order for this to be done, you will need to fill out a credit card form, an account application and provide them with your wholesale certificate. Once this has been received, they will then provide you with a wholesale catalog and anything else that you need in order to get your business up and running with their products.

    6. Also, do not be fooled by those sites offering you a dropship directory for a fee (normally around $5 to $15). Unfortunately, these are normally copies of the more legitimate lists provided by reputable directories, and will often be out of date. So really, you are better off going to one of the more reputable directories and paying them a little extra in order to get a regularly updated list.

    7. Now that you have found the product which you are interested in selling, and you have made arrangements with the dropshipper in question, it is time to get your site up and running, or your account set up with one of the more reputable auction sites, such as eBay.

    Using Salehoo for Wholesaling

Written by melovemoney on Thursday, August 21st, 2008 in Drop Shipping.

Wholesaling is how online sellers or any retailer, online or offline, for that matter, make money. These people get their products at wholesale prices, and then sell them to their customers at marked-up prices. The difference between the wholesale price and the marked-up price is the retailer profit.

The idea of wholesaling becomes even more attractive when drop shipping is involved. In drop shipping, retailers just place their orders to their suppliers on behalf of their customers. They do not have to handle inventory concerns or packaging or shipping. In drop shipping, retailers are purely middlemen, merely bridges between the buyer and the supplier.

Wholesale directories exist because online retailers need resources that can help them make the process of wholesaling easier. In wholesaling, it is very important that an online retailer gets only the best products from the best suppliers. Just like in any type of business, the stable and reliable profit comes mostly from repeat sales from the same customers. If an online retailer makes the mistake of selling bad products or if the customer encounters problems with the shipment of the supplier, then he is in trouble. He may not get that repeat sale that he needs from the customer.

Salehoo, a Complete Wholesale Directory Service

Salehoo is one of the best wholesale directories operating on the Internet today. As is typical with online wholesale directories, it provides listings of suppliers covering a wide variety of products sold on wholesale prices. The range of these products include health and beauty products, computer and software, antiques, furniture, clothing and accessories, books, jewelry and many, many others. The members of Salehoo choose which of these products they wish to sell on markup and just get back to the supplier for shipment whenever they have orders.

What makes Salehoo one of the best wholesale directories online currently? It is because the services they provide go beyond the matter of simply providing a list of wholesale suppliers. Below is a list of reasons behind the success of Salehoo.
